Short Bio:
Mark Brown joined the Department of Government at California State University, Sacramento, in the fall of 2003. Before that he held a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Science & Technology Studies, Bielefeld University, Germany. He completed a Ph.D. in Political Science at Rutgers University in 2001. He is currently on leave from his position in Sacramento and working as co-leader of a research group on "Science, Values, and Democracy" at Bielefeld University. His areas of interest include modern and contemporary political theory, democratic theory, and science and technology studies. His book Science in Democracy will be published by MIT Press in August 2009.

Cenni biografici:
Mark Brown ha cominciato a lavorare per il Department of Government della California State University, Sacramento (Stati Uniti) nell’autunno del 2003. Prima di quella data ha conseguito un post-doc di due anni presso l’Institute for Science & Technology Studies, Bielefeld University, Germania. Nel 2001 ha completato il suo Ph.D. in Scienze Politiche presso la Rutgers University. Attualmente è in congedo dal suo incarico a Sacramento e lavora come corresponsabile di un gruppo di ricerca su “Scienza, Valori e Democrazia” presso la Bielefeld University. La sua area di interesse include la teoria politica moderna e contemporanea, la teoria democratica e gli studi sulla scienza e la tecnologia. Il suo libro Science in Democracy sarà pubblicato dalla MIT Press nell’agosto del 2009.
