Miguel Kottow (Universidad de Chile, Member of Latin American and Caribbean Network for Bioethics of UNESCO)
Born 6-10-1939, Chilean and German citizenship, physician specialized in ophthalmology. Doctorate in medicine and Master in Sociology. Since 1990 teaching activities at graduate and post-graduate levels both in Chile and Latin American programs. Author of numerous publications in bioethics, medical anthropology, and philosophy of medicine, including articles, book chapters and full-length books. Editorial Board Member of international journals, Honorary Member of the Bioethic Society of Rio de Janeiro and of Brazil. Member of Latin American and Caribbean Network for Bioethics of UNESCO. Participant in UNESCO project ABC (Assisting Bioethics Commissions) and Pilot Curriculum for Teaching Bioethics in Medical Schools.
