Public discussions – in part, also those inspired by the traditional humanistic categories of analysis – nowadays tend to ignore or underestimate the function and the role that culture and scientific research play in the maturation and maintenance of modern democracy and of liberal values that shaped their origins and evolution. This has very well defined rooted from a historical and cultural point of view, and this process has also been favored by sector-based skills, and by the prevalence of cultural conceptions of the organization and government of the political systems that favor models and reasonings produced within the framework of case-law and economics.
